Who should I vote for in Abbey?

janestheone said...

last time I voted in Abbey Tickner was a candidate - so I voted Tory. At least then you vote for a Tory who admits to being one.

Anonymous said...

I see Tickner proposed by David "the public are morons" Sutton. IS she going to get tips on " how to seek re-election" from the man?

Anonymous said...

You could try voting for the Abbey Candidate who lives in the ward and talks to local people as part of her job running a pub - Jane Marsden the Lib Dem. The Tory candidate makes Tickner look competent.

Anonymous said...

Anon 20.25: Should be a nice clean campaign then!

Anon 01.18: All I have heard from the Libs in Reading is about how Gareth Epps does the pub rounds!Never out of them I hear. Glad to see he has managed to persuade one of them to stand and try to organise a piss up in a brewery for them! Cos they can't!

Anonymous said...

Jane, I think you could provide a valuable public service by marking our cards for us in these local elections. Note what you say about Park and Abbey - any chance of doing some of the other wards before Polling Day?

Anonymous said...

Me thinks there is a big elephant in these wards oops! I mean room. It has to do with the Post and Vote. Get the drift?..Could it be just rumours though?

I only moved in October into this area and have received my postal voting ballot papers recently. To be honest, I do not know any of the four candidates. And even after more than 1 hour of extensive search on the web I haven't found any information about the candidates. The only thing I found out that Jane Marsden runs a pub. Not really a point as a non-drinker which convinces me to vote in favour of her. Have the candidates not got any manifesto? What do they stand for? What are their plans for Abbey ward? This is really poor. There doesn't seem to be any substance in their campaigns.

I will wait a few more days to see if I can find any other information. Otherwise I will spoil my ballot paper. I won't for anyone I don't know what he/she stands for.
Hopefully, someone can provide any information....Thanks.
