desperate men

resorting to a racist campaign, thinking this will get them elected.  The Reading Labour boys' story was always that the electorate of Church ward was racist - but they were and are wrong.  Unlike them, I have knocked on the doors of Church ward residents over the years, and they are nothing of the sort.  White and working class, yes they mostly are,  not many Guardian readers there, the people are decent, and will vote for someone who works hard as their representative.  I got so tired of hearing the cheap Guardianista sneers in Labour Party meetings,, and even more tired of the boys actively treating the voters, and the party, in that ward with utter contempt.  Now of course it is personal, because of the Conservative candidate.  But that is another story.  Which will come out in full in due course.  There is a stinking piece of criminality here, and using racist language in a bid to get an unsuspecting girl elected and trash a non-white candidate for another party only serves to remind the electorate, and others, of what has gone before.  You'll be sorry, boys.

Is it correct that Labour's woman lives in West Reading?

Surely voters are more interested in how long the candidate has lived in the ward than where they were born.

that's what I was told, and you bet that if she lived in the ward, or ever had, the leaflet would say so.

She lives in Tilehurst.

The main issue in the ward is the Shinfield Road Traffic Lights and narrowing fiasco.

Woodward has failed in that area.

And Azam Janjua lived in Hamilton Road in Park Ward until well after he was first elected for Church Ward. Still owns the Hamilton Road house and one round the corner in Granby Gardens - acording to his council declaration of interest.

so? He moved into the ward as soon as he was in a position to. Is the message that Racist Reading Labour think that Eileen is moving into the ward? And is she?
